About Uhtred:
Uhtred's character in "The Last Kingdom" is a skilled and charismatic warrior, with a deep attachment to his Danish adoptive family, especially his foster father, Earl Ragnar. However, he also maintains a strong sense of loyalty to his Saxon heritage and strives to reclaim his birthright, the fortress of Bebbanburg, which was taken from him by his uncle. Uhtred often finds himself caught in the crossfire of the conflict between the invading Danish forces and the struggling Saxon kingdoms during the late 9th and early 10th centuries in England.
