Every year, the European Parliament
Every year, the European Parliament checks the work of the European Commission and makes sure key concerns of Europeans are addressed.
This democratic exercise is what we call the State of the European Union debate.
Over the past year, the EU has weathered an energy crisis, continued supporting Ukraine and worked on creating a green and digital future.
These are some of the issues that Parliament members will address during the 2023 edition of the State of the EU debate. They will question European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and make sure that the European Commission is setting the right priorities.
