Laparoscopic cholecystectomy (Lap Chole) is a major surgery in the sense that a body organ, the gallbladder, is being removed. Several small cuts (incisions) are made in your tummy (abdomen) and fine surgical instruments are used to access and remove your gallbladder. Open cholecystectomy – a single larger incision is made in your tummy to access and remove your gallbladder.

Laparoscopic cholecystectomy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure of 4 small cuts, for removal of a diseased gallbladder, which takes approximately 1-2 hours.
