STORYLINE :
High-level representatives of the member states of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) convened in Jakarta on Sunday for an extraordinary summit requested by the Palestinian authorities.
The two day meeting will be attended by more than 500 delegates from 49 member countries, including heads of state and foreign ministers.
The theme of this summit is "United for a Just Solution" and members of the OIC plan to sign a declaration regarding their increasing concerns about the ongoing Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
The OIC, founded in 1969 to be a collective voice of the Muslim world, is one of the largest international organisations with 56 member states in Africa, Asia, Europe and South America.
56 nations from Africa, Asia, Europe and South America have joined the OIC as members.
