Goas famous and ever so popular prawn balchao. I have broken down this legendary recipe to make it easy for everyone at home. A prawn dish that has evolved over the ages from being a pickled form to an everyday preparation.  Prawn Balchao basically means prawns cooked in spice. Do check it out and try it.

Ingredients

White Prawns (Deshelled & Deveined) - 300 grams
Onions Chopped - 2 nos
Turmeric Powder - Half tea spoon
Chopped garlic - 4 to 5 flakes
Chopped ginger - Half inch in size
Red chillies dry - 4 to 5 nos
Pepper corns - Half tea spoon
Cumin seeds - Half tea spoon
Cinnamon sticks - Half inch
Cloves - 5 to 6 nos
Green cardamom - 4 to 5 nos
Toddy vinegar - 4 to 5 table spoons
Curry leaves - 1 table spoon
Sugar - 1 table spoon
Dry shrimp powder - 2 table spoons
Salt to taste
Oil to fry
