Tunnel Boring Machine pieces arrive in Melbourne - CPB Contractors

⛴️From the ports in Melbourne to the suburbs in the north east🏠, the final pieces of North East Link’s two tunnel boring machines (TBM) massive machines are on site and ready for assembly. The final piece– a 137-tonne screw conveyor – has now arrived on site in Watsonia, and our CPB Contractors team, as part of the Spark consortium, are making great progress in the assembly of both TBMs. The project team has already completed a huge amount of work to prepare for tunnelling— including progressing construction of the TBM retrieval box in Bulleen installation of a covered conveyer belt and shed that will enable the safe loading of excavation dirt and rock. CPB Contractors is delivering North East Link Primary Package PPP in Melbourne with fellow CIMIC Group company Pacific Partnerships as part of the Spark consortium.
