In 1977, as the Soviet Navy was conducting exercise SEVER-77 in the Barents Sea, the British submarine HMS Swiftsure, was lurking beneath the waves, on a mission to gather information from the Soviet carrier Kiev. What would happen would be one of the most incredible and daring feats of the Cold War.

Historically's Forgotten History Series is a series to teach people lesser known and forgotten (yet very interesting) moments in history.

(Also please note that all the video footage in this video isn't necessarily of Swiftsure-class or even British submarines, as finding footage of the HMS Swiftsure and its class is very difficult, not much exists that is available to use).
