Young Drivers of Canada YD Drive Tips - Learn How to Parallel Park
This short video tutorial will teach you how to easily do a perfect parallel park, regardless of your driving experience level. Parallel parking has always been a mystery to many drivers. In fact, many will admit to looking for a parking spot that they can pull into rather than resorting to parallel parking.
Learn how to properly parallel park in less than 60 seconds. Ignore the embarrassment and frustration of parallel parking and learn the secret to parking perfectly between two cars on the first try.
Steps:
1- Check your mirrors and signal.
2- Reduce speed and stop alongside the front vehicle about one metre away.
3- Put your car in reverse and look 360° around your vehicle.
4- Creep back slowly and when you see the end of the parked vehicle through your side window, turn the steering smoothly all the way towards the curb.
5- When your car is at a 45° angle, steer smoothly and continuously away from the curb.
6- Check your front fender, lining it up with the vehicle behind you.
7- When your vehicle is almost parallel, pull forward to space yourself evenly in between the two vehicles.
