Some noodling around the theme
Some noodling around the theme 'Lady be good'
trying to show some tonal differences between a 1936 Conn 10m (0:00), a 1961 Buescher Super 400 (2:12) and a 1924 Conn New Wonder I (4:25).
I used the same setup: Brilhart Personaline (slant) hard rubber (large round chamber design) and a Rigotti #2 reed. Recorded at about 4 feet distance from the mike to compare projection.
I think the Buescher has a lot in common with the Conns
however sounds and plays a little more sophisticated.
The Conns are a more brutal horn and have lots of punch.
All three of them are loud horns.
