Sterile lancets
Steps:
Preparing your lancing device
1. Remove the lancing device cap
2. Insert a sterile lancet into the lancing device
3. Replace the lancing device cap
4. Adjust the depth setting
5. Cock the lancing device
Preparing the meter
1. Insert a test strip to turn the meter on
Sampling blood from the fingertip
1. Puncture your finger
2. Get a round drop of blood
Applying the sample
1. Apply the sample to the test strip
2. Wait for the channel to fill completely
3. Viewing your result
Removing the used lancet
1. Remove the lancing device cap
2. Cover the exposed lancet tip
3. Eject the lancet
4. Replace the lancing device cap
5. Dispose of the used lancet and test strip
Unlike some blood glucose meters, no separate step to code your FreeStyle Lite System is required.
