The 2024 Honda Civic Mugen
The 2024 Honda Civic Mugen Type R Group A is a special edition of the Honda Civic Type R, which is a high-performance version of the Honda Civic hatchback. The Group A package adds a range of aerodynamic and performance upgrades to the Type R, such as a new front splitter, side skirts, rear spoiler, brake pads, exhaust system, and 19-inch wheels. The Group A kit also features a red and black color scheme, and a Mugen logo on the front grille and rear wing. The Group A kit is designed to enhance the Type R's handling, braking, and sound, while maintaining its 235kW power output from the 2.0-liter turbocharged engine.
The 2024 Honda Civic Mugen Type R Group A was revealed by Mugen, a Honda racing and tuning subsidiary, ahead of its public debut at the Tokyo Auto Salon on January 12, 2024. The Group A kit is one of the two track-ready, road-legal variants that Mugen has created for the Type R, the other being the Group B kit, which has a more extreme carbon-fiber hood and rear wing. The price and availability of the Group A and Group B kits have not been announced yet, but they are expected to be sold exclusively in Japan.
