Have you ever wondered what
Have you ever wondered what it's like to be in the military? Have you ever wondered what life is like for military family members?
"A Walk in My Shoes - Military life" is an in-depth documentary about the lives of seven people - soldiers, spouses, college students, and educators. Each person shares their perspectives on a range of topics including deployments, moving frequently, leaving friends, and the power of military bonds made through service.
The film shines a light on the dedication, service, rewards and challenges of being connected with the military and gives viewers a personal view of life in the military.
For more than 20 years, the College of Education at Kansas State University has worked closely with Fort Riley and area military connected schools. In 2012, the college became a member of Operation Educate the Educator, a nationwide initiative designed to prepare educators to become more responsive to the needs of military connected children. This documentary is both a powerful and natural extension of the college's work in this area.
