Lamb kofta burgers are a great spin on an old favourite. I love food fusion and kofta's and burgers is a great choice.

Lamb koftas are made with a blend of specific spices, blend thes with a rich and creamy tzatziki sauce and you have a winner burger combo.


As with all my recipes I run through the selection, preparation, seasoning, BBQ set up, times and temps, so you can recreate this recipe at home.

Ingredients:
700 grams (1.5lbs) of lamb mince. (split into 160 gram (5.6 oz)  burgers)
½ a grated large brown onion
¼ cup of panko bread crumbs
3 cloves of crushed garlic
2 tablespoons of chopped coriander(substitute with parsley if you don’t like coriander /cilantro)
2 teaspoons of hot paprika
1 teaspoon of cumin
½ a teaspoon of nutmeg
¼ teaspoon of cinnamon
½ teaspoon of ground cardamom
½ teaspoon of chilli flakes (add more if you like it really spicy)
1 teaspoon of salt
½ a teaspoon of black pepper


Tzatziki Dip Ingredients:
1 cup of plain Greek yogurt
1 cup of shredded cucumber
¼ a cup of fresh dill
2 tablespoons of lemon juice
2 cloves of crushed garlic
¼ teaspoon of salt
⅛ teaspoon of black pepper

Extra Ingredients:
5 x burger buns
Tomato - sliced
Red onion - sliced
Cos lettuce - leaves ripped and washed
10 x Havarti cheese slices (2 per burger)

57cm (22”) Weber Kettle
Chimney Starter
1 x charcoal basket
Heat proof gloves
Briquettes
Fire lighters
2 x chunks of cherry wood (or your favourite smoking wood)
