A five-hour time-lapse shot from the cupola of the U.S. Custom House, part of Salem Maritime National Historic Site. These scenes were photographed and produced by the National Park Service as part of the July 4th, 2013 "Celebrate the 4th" event held by the City of Salem. Best viewed in HD.

Technical Details: 1,539 images captured at 18mm, f/8, ISO 200, variable shutter, using a Nikon D90 tethered to a Macbook Pro via Image Capture. All photos except fireworks shot at 15 second interval; fireworks at 10 second. Cutting and assembly via Quicktime Pro at 12fps. Composed and edited in Final Cut Pro at 30fps. 1920x1080 MP4, H.264 AAC.
