In this After Effects motion graphic tutorial we are going to look at how to create a VHS or VCR effect in After Effects. This utilizes a few simple effectors built into After Effects that really help bring the old VHS tape footage back into the modern age through image processing.
PROTIP: After you are done, precomp the file and add a fully black background behind the layer to really show off the effect! We did it in the video but didn't mention it!

Adobe After Effects 2018 (AE 2018) is a digital visual effects, motion graphics, and compositing application developed by Adobe Systems and used in the post-production process of film making and television production. Among other things, After Effects can be used for keying, tracking, compositing and animation. It also functions as a very basic non-linear editor, audio editor and media transcoder.
CINEMA 4D is a 3D modeling, animation, motion graphic and rendering application developed by MAXON Computer GmbH in Germany. It is capable of procedural and polygonal/subd modeling, animating, lighting, texturing, rendering, and common features found in 3D modeling applications.
