Unboxing the Ayaneo Pocket Air Retro Edition handheld console, an Android device designed for emulation and playing Play Store titles with proper physical controls. The Ayaneo Pocket Air Retro Edition boasts built-in gaming tools, a cooling fan and a huge battery, so it's great for gaming on the go. But is it one of the best handheld game consoles in 2023 and is it good at emulation?

Here's my early review after a long weekend of playing some of my favourite classic titles, let us know your thoughts below!

The Ayaneo Pocket Air Retro sports a slim and light design, making it easy to carry around all day. You can play ROMs of classic games from the Game Boy, PS1 & PS2, Game Cube and dozens of other consoles, with a big battery to keep you going all day.

Aya Neo's 5.5-inch AMOLED screen with 16:9 aspect ratio boasts a 1920x1080 pixel resolution, so it's crisp as well as poppy. But the Pocket Air Retro Edition's display isn't as bright as some rivals, so it's harder to see in sunlight.

Performance comes courtesy of the Dimensity 1200 while a triple-speed fan helps to keep things cool. That means the Ayaneo Pocket Air can play any Android game and also handles emulation well. I only saw serious judders when playing Game Cube titles.

So that's what I think of the Ayaneo Pocket Air Retro Edition, but are you tempted? Let us know in the comments below!
