Alchimie X est la concrétisation d'une forte envie de peindre un paysage ancien dans un style dérivé de celui de Turner mais en y apportant une touche abstraite dans le sujet. Le choix du petit format s'est vite imposé lui-même en regard des contraintes techniques lié à l' acrylique. Je voulais en effet peindre à la fois et dans un même temps avec 2 techniques opposées, celle du fondu et celle du glacis. La première consistant à mélanger les couleurs sur la toile et la seconde a les superposer par transparence. L’acrylique séchant beaucoup trop vite pour la conserver humide sur toute la surface, il fallait que celle-ci soit assez petite pour avoir le temps de mélanger les couleurs à chaque endroit de la toile. J' ai pu de ce fait conserver une vision globale de la composition me permettant de m'affranchir de toute retouche.

Alchemy X is the realization of a strong desire to paint an ancient landscape in a style derived from that of Turner but bringing an abstract touch to the subject. The choice of the small format quickly imposed itself in relation to the technical constraints related to acrylic. I wanted to paint both and at the same time with two opposite techniques, that of melting and that of glazing. The first consists of mixing the colors on the canvas and the second has them superimposed by transparency. Because the acrylic dries much too fast to keep it moist all over the surface, it had to be small enough to have time to mix the colors in each place of the canvas. I was thus able to maintain a global vision of the composition allowing me to free myself from any retouching.
