This video teaches how to read CVC  (consonat-vowel-consonat) or three letter  words using Successive Blending. Learning about CVC words is an important tool in phonics and for early readers  as it can help children with reading, writing, and rhyming three-letter words. However very often when you teach a student to read CVC words in three isolated phonemes, for eg 'p..a...n', they get stuck or are unable to string these three phonemes together to read the word as 'pan' and they might land up reading it as 'nap, 'pat' or just something else!! Successive Blending, also called' Continuous Blending' is proven to be highly effective for emergent readers as it reduces the burden on the child's short term memory and allows them to focus on reading the entire word. This scaffolding offers critical support in blending sounds and reading words. It's a foundational skill that eventually  helps students blend with ease and automaticity.
This video gives you an overview of all five vowels.
Coming soon, Detailed  individual tutorials of all five vowels which can be used to teach CVC words to children.
