Less than 1% of British Columbia is covered by coastal sand dunes. These rare ecosystems are threatened by invasive grasses and log debris that displace equally rare species and hinder the dynamic sand movement that is the defining characteristic of dunes. The stabilized dunes can then be colonized by forest plants further reducing habitat available for the species that call these special places home. With the support and involvement of local Indigenous peoples, volunteers and partners, Parks Canada is restoring the natural dynamic nature of these ecosystems to ensure visitors will be able to experience them and find the rare species they support in Pacific Rim National Park Reserve now and into the future. parkscanada.gc.ca/pacificrim Cette vidéo est aussi disponible en Francais :    • Restauration des dunes de sable côtiè...
