After our cruise on the Norwegian Jewel from Vancouver to Seward, we took the Alaska Railroad Coastal Classic train from the cruise ship dock in Seward to the Anchorage International Airport.

It was a beautiful trip and we had quite an adventure.

The rain, clouds, fog, and mist definitely made our trip more scenic.  We saw rushing rivers and many waterfalls.  The rain and spring melt also caused a delay in us reaching Anchorage.

About half-way through the trip, we came to a stop because the track had washed out ahead.  That said, we were comfortable, in a scenic place, and had food, cocoa, and more to keep us happy.

Along the way we saw snow-capped mountains, glaciers, pickled trees, mudflats, creeks, rivers, and lakes.

Traveling through the Kenai Mountains, we saw the Resurrection River, Kenai Lake, Moose Pass, the Trail Canyons, Trail Creek, Trail Glacier, Bartlett Glacier, the Placer River Canyon, Spencer Glacier, the Placer River, the Placer River Valley, Turnagain Arm, and the Chugach National Forest.

This scenic railroad trip was offered as an after-cruise (debarkation) excursion by NCL.  We highly recommend it!
