Introducing the ARCore Raw Depth API

ARCore allows phones to understand the distances to objects in the real world so that you can make your AR experiences more realistic, and therefore more engaging. The new ARCore Raw Depth API provides more detailed representations of the geometry of objects in the scene by generating “raw” depth maps with corresponding confidence images. These unlocks use cases like more accurate measurements and 3D object and scene reconstruction.
