You don't need bridges.

We wanted to bring our tank back to Scarp of Ambrose after defending Mara, the issue with this is the bridges being blown up in our absence. In a heroic display of valor and determination our tank driver managed to hop over the water barrier with our Outlaw.

In the end we parked the Outlaw on the west bridge leading into Jade Cove from Scarp and killed dozens of colonials peeking their head over to get a look at our nuke spotter. The nuke went off, Jade Cove was destroyed forever, and you know what happens next.
