Vaginal discharge in women can be normal (physiological), or abnormal. The commonest cause of abnormal vaginal discharge is infections. The commonest infection is Bacterial Vaginosis, followed by thrush (also called candidiasis or fungal infection) and trichomoniasis (trichomonas vaginalis). Sexually transmitted infections (STI), like chlamydia and gonorrhoea, are less common infective causes of vaginal discharge. The symptoms like yellow discharge, green discharge, greyish discharge, smelly discharge etc are discussed here.
