According to Container xchange, a global platform for container logistics, the CAX index, also known as the Container Availability Index, for the Port of Shanghai is 0.64. The CAX index is a measure of the inbound and outbound value of incoming containers and departing containers. When the CAX index is greater than 0.5, it means that the number of inbound containers is greater than the number of outbound containers, easily leading to the accumulation of empty containers in the port.
