Laura is upset that after her boss retired, he did not name her as the new CEO. Instead, Mr. Lorenzo named his daughter Vanessa as his successor. Laura, feeling jilted, tries to ingratiate herself with the new boss by throwing her a lunch party. But when the new boss overhears the way Laura degrades another co-worker, Ms. Lorenzo must decide if it's in the best interest of the company to keep this disgruntled employee around or let her go.
