Saudi King Salman visits Japan's Abe

(13 Mar 2017) Japan and Saudi Arabia on Monday agreed to deepen economic cooperation and development through joint projects and investments.
Visiting Saudi King Salman and Japanese Prime Minster Shinzo Abe agreed on the "Saudi Japan Vision 2030" plan, with the two countries signing a memorandum of cooperation.
The plan is aimed at transforming Saudi Arabia's economy, which relies heavily on oil exports and help Japanese companies enter the Saudi market.
King Salman, who is on a four-day visit to Japan through Wednesday, brought with him a delegation of over 1,000 officials and businessmen.
This is the first time in 46 years for a Saudi king to visit Japan.
The last visit, by King Faisal, was in 1971.
