this is one of my favorite scenes from the little mermaid! as you can see, this sequence was figured out very early on, and had little changes until the broadway and live action remake versions. personally, i did feel that the 2023 version was a disappointment, especially since i love halle bailey's performance in this scene. i know javier bardem could have delivered a much more intense performance, so i dont know why he was so calm in the film. either way, there's things i love about all of these versions!
