Shay's betrayal of the Assassin's Creed is one of the most pivotal moments of the entire series and it not only changed the trajectory of the story in Assassin's Creed Rogue but also deeply impacted the events in both Assassin's Creed 3 and Assassin's Creed Unity. Especially the protagonists Connor Kenway and Arno Dorian whose lives would be completely different if Shay hadn't made his own luck and defected to the Templars...
