In fire and blood one of the issues with Rhaenyra Targaryen becoming queen is the concept that her children being members of their fathers house Velaryon could mean that House Velaryon become the ruling family, effectively ending the targaryen dynasty. While in real world history and in lore there were ways to address this and stop it happening, the book never touches upon this aspect of the succession mostly as it becomes a non point after the death of Rhaernya's Vealryion children. Thus for some fan's it became a prevalent issue when choosing if to support the claim of Rhaenyra or Aegon when the later could mean the end of the dynasty. But House Of The Dragon Season 1 did address this and clarified the situation where in when Rhaenyra eldest child took the throne they would do under the name targaryen. In this video we take a look at this issue and why it needed te addressed by the show and the impact on House Targaryen should House Velaryon have become the ruling house.

Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen was trapped on Dragonstone by her brother King Aegon ii with no way to escape her fate. What was to come was the final showdown between the two main players of the dance of the dragons and bring the war into its final phase. The House of the dragon was crumbling and the events that was about to follow would only cause more damage to both sides of the war.
