Fertigation Series 9: Volatilization of Ammonia from Irrigation Water

A demonstration of how injecting ammonia gas or anhydrous ammonia into high pH irrigation water in the western US is not a good idea.  Some ideas to reduce the amount of ammonia volatized are discussed.
