Introduction
Melkbosstrand Beach is an amazing place to visit if you want to spend some time on the beach. It's located in Cape Town and it's on the West Coast of South Africa. The beach has a lot of activities for people who want to enjoy their vacations at this spot but also for families with young children which makes it ideal for families with kids who want to go camping there or just have some fun in the sun!
Melkbosstrand Beach is on the West Coast of Cape Town.
The beach is on the West Coast of Cape Town, a stretch of coastline that stretches from Bloubergstrand to Cape Point. The long beachfront is great for surfing, kitesurfing, swimming and diving and it’s a popular spot for families with young children.

The reason we chose Cape Town as our base was because it has everything you could possibly want from a holiday destination: beautiful scenery, great beaches and wonderful restaurants. The city itself is also very cosmopolitan and has lots of places to shop where you can get items made out of ostrich skin or kudu horns!
We were there for two weeks and we spent it camping with our tent in the most amazing campgrounds, Primi Seacrest Beach Camping.
The beach is a great location for some fun water activities rather than just chilling on the sand, which is what my sister and I did most of the time. We were there for two weeks and we spent it camping with our tent in the most amazing campgrounds, Primi Seacrest Beach Camping.
There are many things to do at this spot if you go to Melkbosstrand beach! One of those things is swimming in deep waters which was one of my favorite activities here at this spot because there was so much room to swim around without bumping into anyone else while doing it. Some other activities include kayaking, surfing or even just relaxing on your towel while listening to music coming from speakers placed all around them (which sometimes can get quite annoying after awhile).
This campground was just 5 minutes walk from the beach and we were right next to the scout campground, so we met very friendly people.

We became friends with them and they invited us over to celebrate New Year's Eve with them which was really nice.

The campsite was small but very nice and cosy.
The campsite was small, but it had everything you could need. There was a communal kitchen with gas stoves and all the basic pots and pans. There were also a few tables outside where you could sit and enjoy breakfast in the morning, or dinner under the stars at night. The shower facilities were great, never having to wait for more than one person at a time (though there was an odd three-minute limit when I tried using it). The campground next door also had an amazing swimming pool that we spent many hours relaxing by!
The beach itself is not too far from town either - about 30 minutes away by car/taxi (or 20 if you walk). You can take nice walks along this path which leads directly onto Melkbosstrand beach itself.
It had great shower facilities and a communal kitchen where you could cook on open fire or use their BBQs.
The communal kitchen was very well equipped and easy to use. The showers had excellent pressure, so it was easy to wash off the dust after going on a hike. You can also cook on open fire or use their BBQs.
The best part was the location of the campsite, right next to the beach!
