K2 Summit without supplemental oxygen

July 25 2019, around 7:15 am. After attempting K2 in 2018 and turning around above Camp 2 due to bad weather, and then after trying for the summit again, a week earlier in 2019 and facing deep, unstable snow above the Bottleneck, I was so grateful conditions opened up for a safe summit push. The views from K2 are the most spectacular I've ever seen. I only wish I had stayed on top longer. The winds were forecast to pick up, so we rushed to start down. By the time we were descending below the Bottleneck, we were in a whiteout, but by Camp 4, we were out of the clouds. We packed up camp and descended the Cesen route all the way to base camp that day. What a memory.
