Adorable baby goat discovers first hops!!

Allagash the baby goat is 2 days old and woke up ready to find his hops! I am not sure there is anything sweeter than those first excited leaps! “Look what I can do!” While he waits for goat friends to be born, he is enjoying being the star of the barn! He alternates napping and exploring! Baby goats are such a mood changer for me on so many levels. They always seem so completely in the moment, so joyful and sweet. In a complex world, that simple goodness is refreshing and truly needed as a reminder that there is so much good amidst the hardships of the world. Four days ago, our field was covered in snow and broken tree limbs, the wind and rain were howling, the power was flickering again. On that day I was irrationally convinced that the bad weather would never lift. And then, this morning I woke up to a hopping goat, sun shining and green grass. Life is like that. A lighter Hoppier day is often just around the bend from the one that feels hopeless and dark!
