* As part of the land of the Yankee Fork State Park, Bayhorse was once a thriving mining town. Prospectors first discovered mineral deposits in 1864. At this very early of a date, it was almost impossible to mine in this area. It wasn't until the the mid 1870's that a RUSH began.
* Dive into this exciting adventure we found in Bayhorse Ghost Town, on @offroad801, named "Unstable, yet Still Standing" - with unique features for outdoor enthusiasts. Whether you're setting to off-road, hike, explore or simply take in the historical views, it's a place where journey culminates. This site features a couple of well-preserved structures to give a sense of the isolation and hard work experienced by the miners who once toiled there.
* Today, visitors going to the Ghost Town will see remnants of the old machinery, offering a glimpse into the areas rich and often tumultuous mining history, in this steep and harsh mountainous environment. Also witness an ominous presence in the background, that ultimately ran us out of the canyon.
