How to play Under Starters Orders. This is a game for one person and great for building Spanish vocabulary.
Firstly, deal out all the cards to create eight columns of seven cards. The aim of this game is to move all the cards away from the playing area by creating sentences of at least two cards long, but you must be able to translate all the Spanish words in your sentence, and you can only take from the row nearest to you. Here is a sentence of three Spanish words, but if you don't know the meaning of a Spanish word, look for the clues. Once you know what it means, you put them to the side face-up so you can refer to the translation. You can now take the next card in the column. If you move all your cards, you win. If you want to make things more difficult, you lay the cards out with alternate rows facing down.
