This video is about Ich (ick) removal in my saltwater coral reef aquarium. How I resolved it in my main display tank
Couple things to note
1. I did not lose any fish or coral within the tank during the treatment
2. I used a reef safe treatment option
3. I started treatment at the first sight of the problem.
Special note. I did not fully follow the directions on the product I used. I left my skimmer and all my media running the whole time.
The product I used was Ruby Reef Kick-ich
Here is what I did.
Treatment #1
Treated the tank on days 1, 3, 5, 7, 10, and 13
Water change day 14.
Waited 1 week and problem hadn’t resolved so I repeated treatment.
Treatment #2
I treated on days 1, 3, 5, 7, 10, and 13
I also flushed the rock with a turkey baster each time I treated and lightly stirred the sand bed.
Note - please don’t stir your sand bed if this is not something you routinely do as that could cause other issues.
Day 14 did a water change
1 week later it was gone. I did another water change to remove additional left over medicine from the tank.
