Mattel Q3 earnings exceeds expectations, CEO talks Barbie success, consumer demand, growth outlook

Multinational toy manufacturer Mattel (MAT)
Multinational toy manufacturer Mattel (MAT) beat third-quarter earnings estimates on the top and bottom lines. Mattel Chairman and CEO Ynon Kreiz attributes much of this explosive success to the popularity of the summer's Barbie movie, directed by Greta Gerwig and starring Margot Robbie.
The movie will clearly strengthen and broaden the audience for Barbie... with success of the movie, it will continue to push the brand forward in years to come," Kreiz explains to Yahoo Finance Executive Editor Brian Sozzi, adding: "We also saw growth with Disney Princess and Frozen in the quarter, Monster High is performing very well. So, the dolls category as a whole is really thriving."
Kreiz also comments on pricing across the toy industry and the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict in the Gaza region.
