India Successfully Test Fires Agni-4 Ballistic Missile In Odisha
India carried out a successful test-fire of Agni-4 Ballistic Missile from the Integrated Test Range in Chandipur, Odisha. This Intermediate Range Ballistic Missile (IRBM) launch was conducted under the supervision of the Strategic Forces Command of India's Nuclear Command Authority (NCA). The missile validated all the operational and technical parameters. The Agni-4 missile can cover a distance of up to 4,000 kilometres. It is a 20-metre-long missile that can carry a 1,000 kg payload and be launched from a road-mobile launcher. During its 2012 test, the missile travelled over 3,000 kilometres in just 20 minutes, marking the longest-range mission achieved by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). Previously known as Agni-2 Prime, the Agni-4 missile is part of the series of missiles designed and developed by the DRDO.
