In today's meeting of the Tropical Rum Society, we finally get around to looking at the OG white rum, Bacardi Blanca. Even if you aren't far into your rum journey, this is one of the major players that you'll recognise from just about every place you can find alcohol. Whether you know it as Bacardi White, Bacardi Superior, or just plain old Bacardi, it's a rum that you'll have seen at least once or twice... Originally produced in Cuba starting in 1862, Bacardi Blanca has taken the world by storm, and been the inspiration for many drinks, including two of the world's most famous classic cocktails, the Cuba Libre and the Daiquiri. So settle in, and let's discuss how this rum went from the idea of a single man, to a household name.
