CPU-Z is a software that
CPU-Z is a software that can easily provide you all the exceptional details and information of CPU, cache memory, motherboard, main memory also known as Random Access Memory, Serial Presence detect of SPD(simply individual memory module), graphics, benchmark of CPU about your laptop/Desktop. So, let us begin but before that if you have not subscribed to the channel, please hit the subscribe button and click on the bell icon. So, Let’s get started.
First to download cpuz go to google search bar of your browser and search for cpuz download. Click on the first link. Scroll down and select this one. Download and install it simply.
Now let’s move on the cpuz program and discuss all the information one by one. As you can see, we have multiple tab for CPU, cache memory, motherboard, main memory also known as Random Access Memory, SPD or (simply individual memory module), graphics, benchmark of CPU.
In CPU tab, the name of processor is given is intel core i5 4200U, this U means this processor runs under the ultra-low voltage and it’s a dual core processor. Core means a sub CPU that is embedded inside a single processor. Code name Haswell ULT (ultra-low thermal design power) is the codename for a processor microarchitecture developed by Intel as the "fourth-generation core”.
maxTDP 15 watts means is the maximum amount of heat or power generated by a computer chip or component (often a CPU, GPU or system on a chip) that the cooling system in a computer is designed to dissipate under any workload.
Package socket 1168 BGA means the socket in which the processor is installed is a ball grid array socket which means the CPU is permanently fixed in the motherboard. technology 22nm implies that the smallest length (not width) of a transistor that is used on making integrated circuit of our processor. This is roughly 4000 times smaller than average diameter of human hair.
Core voltage is the voltage actually supplied by the motherboard to the processor. Specification intel core 15 4200U CPU @ 1.6 ghz means that there are 1.6 billion “ticks” of the clock per second, and each instruction that the CPU understands takes a certain number of ticks to complete. CPU family = 6 means it lies in the category from Pentium Pro (1995) to the latest Haswell (2014). This model number 5 is basically a way to identify the CPU core type. Stepping =1 This is the number that determines what kind of improvements have been made to the core, and how much new is. It can be understood that like software patches, the larger this number means that it has been fixed many times, improved from previous versions. Revision is the type of improvements made between chips with Family and Model but with different Stepping Instructions: This is the list of scripts that the chip processes.
Core speed. This value keeps on changing. Tt is the speed of the CPU, measured in MHz The term "core" refers to the centre, or nucleus, of the computer, which is its CPU. Multiplier sets the ratio of an internal CPU clock rate to the externally supplied clock. For example, a system with an external clock of 100 MHz and a 36x clock multiplier will have an internal CPU clock of 3.6 GHz. Bus speed is simply the speed of Bus that connects CPU to northbridge. It is measured in mhz. This cache section will be discussed in the next tab.
Cores and Threads: core is the subdivision of CPU Number of cores (or cores) and Threads refer to the virtual component which manages the tasks. This number is usually an even number, as in my screen, there are 2 cores, 4 threads.
Now let’s go to cache. Cache are the second fastest memory of computer system tha stores data that requires frequent access. It is divided into three level. L1,l2 and l3 level cache.. L1 D is level one Data cache that is used to keep program data which is 32KB and another cache level 1 I that is used to keep instructions for the microprocessor which is 32 KB. L2 core usually does not divide and acts as a common repository for L1. Each multi-core chip has a dedicated L2 Cache and is usually not shared between cores here L2 is 256 KB. L3 Cache is a higher-level cache, shared between cores and not divided. L3 cache is 3MB.
Now let’s go to main board tab.
In the Mainboard tab, you will see a lot of useful information when upgrading or replacing components. This information will include the motherboard manufacturer, chipset, BIOS and graphical interface.
Manufacturer: The name of the motherboard manufacturer that is dell for my laptop.
Model: Model of the motherboard, next to the version name i.e. 028XkX with version name A00
Chipset: Manufacturer is intel, chip type is Haswell ULT which we already discussed in CPU tab and Revision is 09.
