The Hohenfriedberger March is a
The Hohenfriedberger March is a Prussian-German march that was written after the Prussian victory over the Austrians (and Saxons) in the Battle of Hohenfriedberg, nowadays called Dobromierz, in South-West Poland. The battle took place on 4 June 1745, during the War of the Austrian Succession and it was led—as so many Prussian battles—by king Frederick the Great. There are rumours that the march was written by Frederick himself, but nobody really knows it.
The versions:
Version 1: 0:00-1:19 The normal and regular version.
Version 2: 1:20-2:17 The drums and fife version, an 18th century army version.
Version 3: 2:21-3:33 I'd call this a royal version. At least, it makes me think of an absolute king. Someone else thought it was a baroque version.
Version 4: 3:38-4:30 A 19th century version with songtext.
Version 5: 4:30-5:25 This is actually the second part of the 4th version, but I discovered it was different from version 1, so let's call this a bonus-outro version.
