This video shows how you can Activate and Deactivate Licenses on your iLok(s) or in your iLok account. Activate and Deactivate are just different terms that mean MOVE your licenses to an iLok or from an iLok to your account.

When you Deactivate a License, you still own it and have access to it. It is just no longer able to be used to open your software until you move the license back to an iLok key.
With the ILM (iLok License Manager) you can, move licenses from an iLok to your account (deactivate); move licenses from your account to an iLok (activate); and move licenses directly from an iLok to another iLok (deactivate and activate).
With the ILM you have several ways to Activate and Deactivate, such as, Drag & Drop, Right Click, File Menu, and/or using the Buttons on the top-right of the UI.
