Free Beach front camping New Zealand

Mc Donald reserve is quiet and has limited space, but it sure is beautiful, when the suns out and the wind has gone.
I don't think we'll ever get free camping this close to the water with such a great view again.
Mc Donald reserve is in Northern section of the Coromandel Pennisula, where this is a lot of accommadation options, but very little facilities or infrastructure, ie shops and food.
