US President Donald Trump claims he has "done more in 47 months" than former Vice President Joe Biden has done in 47 years as he denied assertions he paid just $750 in federal income tax during the 2016 and 2017 financial years.
"I paid $38 million one year; I paid $27 million one year," President Trump said.
Democratic opponent Joe Biden interrupted, calling on the President to show his tax returns to which the President claimed would be made known in time.
"Go to the board of elections, there's a 118 page or so report that says everything I have, every bank account I have, I'm totally under-leveraged because the assets are extremely good," President Trump said.
"He passed a tax bill that gave us all these privileges for depreciation, for tax credits ... which was given to me by the Obama administration."
Mr Biden claimed the reason President Trump was able to pay "less tax than a school teacher" was because he could take advantage of the tax code, vowing to "eliminate the Trump tax cuts" and "invest in the people who in fact need the help".
"Why didn't you do it over the last 25 years then," the President asked.
"I've done more in the last 47 months than you've done in the last 47 years, Joe."
