Here's the setup and method I use to grind the battle trophy for 1,000,000 hits in Star Ocean 5. It's a very suboptimal setup, particularly with the equipment, but the important thing is, it works and requires no elaborate synthing chains. This is done on Galaxy difficulty and should generate around 30000-35000 hits an hour.
Be warned that attempting this method on higher difficulties will most likely require more synthing defensive stuff to your gear to make this work for you.
As a bonus, the platinum trophy is shown being obtained.
