Here is a quick video about color space and Photoshop CS5 with Bridge and Camera RAW. The defaults upon install are bad because they will be using Adobe RGB 1998, which is a bad choice for most situations. I suggest switching to sRGB throughout the entire process so you know what to expect in the final result. You can pick up Adobe's creative cloud photographer plan (12 month package):

It's pretty much the only Adobe option now unless you are able to find a used copy of a previous version.
