Bus from TIRANA to SARANDA, ALBANIA ~ What a Beautiful Ride!

It’s pretty easy to get
It’s pretty easy to get a bus from Tirana to Saranda, Albania.
The buses to Saranda depart from the Tirana Regional Bus Terminal. You can find it here on Google Maps: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Reg...
To get to the Tirana Regional Bus Terminal you can take a taxi, which should cost 5 Euros (600 Lek) from the center of Tirana and takes about 15 minutes, depending on traffic.
You can also take a local bus to the Tirana Regional Bus Terminal. You’ll need to ask your host or hotel which bus to take depending on where you are coming from.
When you arrive at the Tirana Regional Bus Terminal you will see a TISA booth where you can purchase a bus ticket to Saranda. Buses depart several times per day. You can check the latest information on the TISA Facebook page: Facebook: tisatravell
We took the 8:30am bus from Tirana to Saranda. We arrived at the bus station around 7:45am and were able to easily purchase tickets at the TISA booth. We did not need to book the bus tickets in advance. However, we were there on a weekday in January. It might be necessary to book a bus ticket in advance if you are traveling during a more popular time such as the weekend or in the summer months.
The bus ride takes about 5 hours from Tirana to Saranda. The bus made a stop about halfway through the journey at a restaurant for 20 minutes where there were bathrooms, food, and coffee.
The route we took went along a snowcapped mountain range and a river with brilliant turquoise water. We were blown away by how beautiful it was! This was a very memorable bus journey.
Apparently, there is another route that takes you along the coast. You can contact TISA directly to find out about the different routes they offer.
