An explanation is given as to how television evolved in the first place, starting with the early motion pictures using film. The primitive mechanical television is explained and how this was superseded by the newer electronic variety.  Early methods of capturing television content is also explored.

The history of video recording is then traced right through the videotape era, to the solid state, high definition and widescreen of today.

We have tried to include every major VTR and VCR format from 1956 until they moved into solid state memory devices, whilst including a wide range of associated machines…

We have also mentioned the dominant home market machines, but mainly concentrated on the professional equipment that was being used worldwide.

Also deviated into a number of back stories and amusing clips to give an added perspective to related matters… whilst adding a TVW, ABW, STW and BTW perspective.  Sadly, did not have sufficient information on NEW to give specific details.
