End stage liver cancer refers to stage 4 cancer.
The liver is no longer able to function normally in stage 4 liver cancer.
1:10 Is it possible to treat liver cancer at stage 4?
As previously noted, patients with stage 4 liver cancer cannot function normally, and we cannot offer them cancer-directed treatment because their liver is not working properly, thus drugs will not work and the patient may face major adverse effects.

We cannot treat patients with pharmaceuticals or therapies at this stage of liver cancer, but we can examine several variables to make them feel more comfortable and improve their quality of life.

We can provide them a proper diet and nutritional food intake, we can give them pain medications, we can look for and treat side effects like ascites, low protein, and bleeding in the digestive tract, and we can give them a good environment to soothe stage 4 liver cancer patients.

Dr Praveen Kammar is a surgical oncologist practising in the city of Mumbai.
He completed his MCh course in surgical oncology from the reputed Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai, one of the premier cancer care centres in the country. He also holds a fellowship in Colorectal surgery from Yopnsei cancer centre, Seoul, South Korea. Dr Praveen’s main area of focus is colorectal and GI oncology, Gynecological cancers, minimal access surgeries for abdominal and thoracic malignancies, transanal surgeries, and sphincter-saving surgeries for rectal cancer, cytoreductive surgeries, and HIPEC for advanced abdominal cancers.
