This etude is inspired by Vaughan Williams' "The Lark Ascending", however where Minsky lives there are hawks. Hawks love to flap a little and then glide. This is reflected in the music. Technically it uses the same pattern on all 4 strings which brings it into the 4th dimension. It also uses harmonics at the highest register (above the fingerboard) to portray the hawk as it drifts away into the heavens.
